I have checked and used the SWAP-monitor that you resent to us, but are not able to hear any noise from in my office.
I did however check it after closing the door to my office and with the specific word document, eizo.doc as at your home page. Then if I placed my head with my ear near the upper ventilation holes at the monitor I could hear the buzzing sound. I could also recognize that it changed depending on type of picture at the screen. It was easier to observe with the eizo.doc document at the screen than with other pictures. My younger colleague did actually observe the sound already at 1 meter distance behind the monitor but in front of the monitor didn’t her either observe it. We have however got some equipments with fans at our service department, but when the door is closed to my office do I think that the background sound is at a normal office level.
I have also checked some other S2401W and can confirm that they have exactly the same symptom. The sound is easier to observe with the eizo.doc document than with other pictures, and the level is similar to the unit we received back from you. I can also confirm that this kind of sound not is anything abnormal in LCD-monitors.
I do actually think that you have to accept that you not will find any LCD-monitor that are totally free from sounds like this but I still have some things that might have influence on this type of sound. We might have discussed this already, but I would like to you to check those things.
Is your monitor connected to a grounded power source?
Is your monitor and computer connected to the same grounded power source?
If the monitor and or computer not are correctly grounded or not grounded at the same ground level can this type of symptom get worse. There for please check those points.
