First I want to apologize for writing in English. I know there is an English forum, but because I live in Denmark I'd much rather talk with Danes, I hope that's OK. It's "helt OK" to respond in Danish, which I read just fine.

My question is for anyone who owns a Philips 8008. I have been really close to buying Samsungs UE46F7005, which meets most of my needs fine.
But a few things keep drawing me back to the Philips.
1) the Ambilight – I really like it. I'm also a Philips Hue fan. So I'm all in... and have no doubt I would use this.
2) The overall design of the TV (though with a footnote!) ...and the elegance of the single remote.
3) IT*S NOT A SAMSUNG ...I have many rotten associations with their brand. It's personal I guess.
---
I've read enough to know that choosing the Phillips would mean saying goodbye to a reasonable Smart TV experience, I know. I'd also miss twin tuners, quad core snappyness, etc. And I can live with all that.
One thing I can't with would be if "normal" TV functions like recording (optagelse) are also as slow and poor performing as the rest of the Smart TV stuff is reported to be.
So that's my question basically – Smart TV aside, can you recommend this TV based on the speed and interface when using other functions – specifically the TV guide and the recording function.
Anything else you can say about your experience with this model would be helpful.

I've been wondering if El Giganten sells a variant of the 8008 that is made a little differently. The frame seems entirely plastic and very cheap (I've seen it in peson)...wheras all the reviews I've read describe it as stainless steel, and using high quality materials.
The model I am looking at looks to be cheapest at Fona now.
