TCL CSOT fremviser seneste udvikling indenfor skærmteknologi, herunder verdens første 1000Hz LCD og en 14-tommer QD-EL, også kendt som NanoLED.

CSOT er TCLs afdeling for skærmproduktion i Kina, og i stigende grad en konkurrent til sydkoreanske LG Display og Samsung Display. TCL CSOTs skærmpaneler bruges i dag i TV-skærme fra blandt andet TCL, Samsung, Sony og Panasonic.

På den årlige industrimesse Display Week præsenterer TCL CSOT sine seneste fremskridt inden for skærmteknologi. I hvert fald nogle af skærmpanelerne forventes at dukke op i forbrugerprodukter i løbet af de kommende år.


TCLs første QD-EL skærm

Det oprindelige navn, QLED, blev misbrugt, så den elektroluminescerende skærmteknologi, hvor elektricitet føres direkte til quantum dots, går under mange navne: NanoLED, QDEL, QD-EL og QD-LED. TCL har fremvist deres første 14-tommer QD-EL skærm, der er printet. Skærmen har en opløsning på 2,8K, opdateringsfrekvens på 30-120Hz og farvedækning på 85% BT.2020. Selskabet siger, at printmetoden til produktion kan reducere omkostningerne væsentligt.

Nogle grene af branchen mener, at QD-EL repræsenterer næste skridt efter OLED, men der er stadig store udfordringer på vejen mod kommercialisering, herunder meget begrænset levetid på den blå QLED. TCL gav ikke et estimat på levetiden.

Verdens første 1000Hz LCD

På Display Week 2024 fremviser TCL også verdens første 1000Hz 4K LCD-skærm. De hurtigste monitorer på markedet i dag er 480Hz OLED og 540Hz LCD, begge med 1080p opløsning.

TCL siger, at 1000Hz "indvarsler en ny æra inden for spil". Skærme i dag har stadig bevægelsesslør ved meget høje opdateringsfrekvenser på grund af sample-and-hold-princippet, hvor pixels kun ændres, hvis der ændres i billedet, hvorfor 1000Hz er berettiget – ikke bare et spec-ræs – ifølge Blur Busters. For at nyde fordel af 1000Hz skal vi dog ideelt set have indhold i 1000fps og en ny standard for kabler, der overstiger båndbredden i HDMI 2.1 og DisplayPort 2.1.

16" 8K LCD og WHVA

Af andre nyheder fra TCL er et laptop-panel med den højeste opløsning til dato. Panelet på 16-tommer har 8K-opløsning, hvilket givet en pixeltæthed på 550ppi (pixels per tomme). Det er et LCD-panel med sRGB farver, så det er ikke velegnet til arbejde med grafik, men det er ikke desto mindre en bemærkelsesværdig udvikling.

TCL CSOT fremviser desuden WHVA, hvilket er en videreudvikling af VA LCD. Flatpanels skrev tidligere på året i forbindelse med CES 2024 om WHVA i vores artikel 'Har TCL løst problemet med betragtningsvinklen på LCD?'. Teknologien forventes klar i TV-skærme i 2025. Endelig kan selskabets HFR LCD-panel – en variant af IPS LCD – fremhæves. Det har et kontrastforhold på 4000:1, hvilket er væsentlig højere end IPS LCD i dag, der typisk ligger på 1000-1500:1. IPS LCD bruges i alle telefoner og tablets med LCD samt mange monitorer og TV. Herunder fremgår en beskrivelse af alle de nye prototyper fra TCL CSOT:
