Nvidia Shield får Android 11 og nye funktioner
Nvidias nye opdatering til Shield-boksen byder på Android 11, en ny match-funktion til lyd, Gboard-tastatur, understøttelse af aptX Bluetooth-hovedtelefoner mm.Android 11 til Shield
Nvidia Shield har kørt Android 9 siden august 2019, hvilket dels relaterer sig til Nvidias beslutning om at springe Android 10 over. Android 11 er nu annonceret itl boksen og selvom det stadig ikke er den nyeste version (12) af Android til TV, så er det et skridt fremad. - "Shield TV gets upgraded to Android 11. Updates include new privacy features, and a new default keyboard with built-in text to speech capabilities," skriver Nvidia i annonceringen. Android 11 er del af Nvidias Shield Experience Upgrade 9.0-pakke, der desuden introducerer nye Bluetooth-funktioner såsom aptX-support og mulighed for at afkoble Bluetooth-enheder ved standby. Der kommer også Gboard-tastatur på Shield.Shield fik for nylig den nye Google TV-agtige brugerflade (ses på billedet nedenfor), men det er ikke relateret til denne software-opdatering. I stedet presser Google brugerfladen ud direkte til brugerne via en app-opdatering.
Nvidia Shield opgraderes til Android 11Der er en ny match-funktion til lyd, ny energispare-funktionalitet samt udvidet Stadia-support for Xbox-, PlayStation- og Shield-spilcontrollere. Nvidia benytter lejligheden til at fremhæve, at kun Shield-boksen understøtter GeForce Now spil-streaming i 4K HDR billedkvalitet og 7.1 surroundlyd – det begrænses til 1080p på Smart TV. Herudover fremhæver Nvidia to nye eller opgraderede apps: Apple TV (med 4K Dolby Vision og Atmos support) og Google Play Film (med 4K Dolby Vision support). IMDb TV appen, som også fremhæves, er endnu ikke tilgængelig i Danmark.
