Sound United har annonceret nye versioner af Denon AVR-X8500H og Marantz AV8805, nu med HDMI 2.1. Ejere af de gamle versioner vil kunne opgradere til HDMI 2.1 med et hardware-kit.

Nye HDMI 2.1 receivere
De seneste 6-7 måneder har været udfordrende for Denon og Marantz, som begge er ejet af Sound United. Deres første AV-receivere med HDMI 2.1 funktionalitet har været defekte og selskabet har tilsyneladende opgivet at løse det.

Sound United har nu annonceret opgraderede udgaver af de velkendte Denon AVR-X8500H og Marantz AV8805 receivere. Den nye 'A' revision byder på HDMI 2.1 funktionalitet, som rent faktisk skulle virke – det hævder selskabet i hvert fald selv.

- "The two new units, dubbed the Denon AVR-X8500H “A” and Marantz AV8805 “A” boast many exciting updates, including 8K/60Hz upscaling and passthrough, 4K/120Hz pass-through , HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.3, as well as other HDMI 2.1 technologies. The factory upgraded Denon and Marantz units will gradually replace all existing Denon AVR-X8500H and Marantz AV8805 units," lyder det.

HDMI 2.1 funktionerne vil gøre det muligt at sende signaler i 4K120 igennem fra PC'er og spilkonsoller såsom Xbox Series X og PlayStation 5 samt 8K signaler fra fremtidige afspillere og konsoller. De nye receivere understøtter naturligvis også Dolby Atmos og DTS:X lyd.

Denon AVR-X8500HA vil i Europa koste 4000 Euro mens Marantz AV8805A vil koste 4300 Euro. De danske priser kendes endnu ikke.

Opgradering af ældre receivere
Ejere af de gamle non-A Denon AVR-X8500H og Marantz AV8805 modeller vil blive tilbudt mulighed for at opgradere til HDMI 2.1 via et hardware-kit, som vil koste 750 Euro.

- "Current owners of the Denon AVR-X8500H and Marantz AV8805 will have the opportunity to upgrade the HDMI/Digital board within their units to obtain the same features as the “A” components. The upgrade requires a hardware modification at a Denon and Marantz certified Service Center. Beginning June 15, 2021, this will be arranged on request by contacting Denon or Marantz directly via the Denon Site and Marantz Site" siger Sound United.
