Portrait Displays har frigivet 2021-udgaven af sin Calman-software til kalibrering af TV-skærme og monitorer. Med auto-kalibrering til bl.a. LG 2021 OLED TV forsimples processen.
Calman 2021 software
Calman er en af de mest velkendte løsninger til kalibrering af skærme; primært professionelt men i stigende grad også til privatbrugere. 2021-udgaven byder på flere nyheder, herunder en 'Aurora Color Engine'.

For at komme i gang kræves Calman-softwaren, supporteret måleudstyr (til målinger på skærmen) og en mønster-generator (til de testmønstre, der måles på). Sidstnævnte kan enten komme fra en ekstern HDMI-boks eller være mønstre indbygget direkte i nyere high-end TV.

Auto-kalibrering af TV
I senere år har et stigende antal high-end TV fået understøttelse af Calman AutoCal, hvilket er en forkortelse for auto-kalibrering. Den mere automatiserede process gør det lettere og hurtigere at kalibrere TV. Kig efter TV-modeller, som er 'Calman Ready'.

Calmans 2021-opdatering åbner for 2021 LG TV foruden modeller fra 2020 og tidligere fra LG, Samsung, Sony og Panasonic. Understøttelse af 2021 TV-modeller fra andre mærker forventes klar senere.
Til forbrugere findes særskilte software-udgaver kaldet Calman Home til hhv. LG, Panasonic, Samsung og Sony TV. Hver version koster 145 dollars (ca. 900 kroner). Den fulde Calman Ultimate-pakke, henvendt til profesionelle, koster knap 3000 dollars.

- Completely new color engine built from the ground up using the latest color science research
- Next generation Unity Grayscale technology for 3D LUT neutral spline bypass when using a 1D LUT + 3D LUT for calibration
- New 3D LUT technology reduces or eliminates posterization and banding
- Improved MatrixLUT formula for calibration
- Added new 13pt fixed grid option patch set

Resolved Issues:
- Fixed Beta reported issue removed automated source settings to prevent overwriting user source settings when progressing through Samsung Autocal or any home AutoCal workflow
- Fixed Beta reported issue going backwards (Clicking “BACK”) from some Home workflow pages will make the some previous pages charts/data disappear

Known Issues:
- Dell UP3221Q calibration for SDR Presets S5 and S6 will show an error message pop up after completing. The data is uploaded correctly, but if s5 and s6 are included in a larger sequence, the error will stop the sequence |
