Yamaha har præsenteret sine første AV-receivere med HDMI 2.1 porte til 8K60, 4K120 og VRR. De nye RX-V receivere er samtidig de første med adskillige HDMI 2.1 porte.

Yamaha HDMI 2.1 receivere
Marantz og Denon var først på banen med HDMI 2.1 kompatible AV-receivere, men Yamahas nye RX-V AV er de første med mere end en HDMI 2.1 port. 

- "In fact, no other AV receiver on the market offers as many 8K HDMI inputs as Yamaha, with three on the RX-V6A (7 inputs total) and all four inputs on the RX-V4A," siger selskabet.

Det kan vise sig nyttigt, hvis man påtænker at investere i både PlayStation 5 og Xbox Series X eller en spilkonsol plus en fremtidig videoafspiller med HDMI 2.1. Version 2.1 af HDMI-standarden er påkrævet til signaler i 4K120 (4K ved 120 billeder per sekund) og 8K. At have HDMI 2.1 i sin receiver sikrer, at den ikke bliver en flaskehals i et HiFi-setup, hvor signaler sendes igennem receiver før de når op på TV'et.



De nye receivere understøtter desuden valgfrie HDMI 2.1 funktioner, herunder Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rates (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) samt Quick Media Switching (QMS), oplyser Yamaha. Alle HDMI 2.1 funktioner vil kræve en firmware-opdatering. Datoen for denne er ikke meldt ud. 

Ydermere bydes der på Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby Vision passthrough (alle indgang), AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, multi-room lyd samt stemmestyring.

Alternativet til at opgradere til en HDMI 2.1 receiver er at forbinde fremtidens spilkonsoller og afspillere direkte til et TV med HDMI 2.1 plus HDMI eARC, hvor sidstnævnte kan returnere lyden i fuld kvalitet til en HDMI 2.0 receiver med eARC-support.

Yamahas nye RX-V4A and RX-V6A lanceres i henholdsvis august og september 2020. I Danmark vil de koste omkring 4.000 og 5.500 kroner.
