Netflix præsenterer efterårets film: 'Rebel Moon', 'The Killer', 'Henry Sugar' m.fl.

Netflix har præsenteret sit filmprogram for efteråret med store titler fra instruktører som David Fincher, Wes Anderson og Zack Snyder.

Ligesom andre streamingtjenester, der kæmper med den nuværende markedssituation, har Netflix skruet en anelse ned for investeringer i nyt indhold samt været tvunget til at sætte mange projekter på pause på grund af de igangværende strejker i Hollywood.

Ikke desto mindre har Netflix en solid liste af nye film planlagt til efteråret 2023, herunder David Finchers The Killer, som får premiere på Netflix den 10. november, og Zack Snyders Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, som får premiere den 22. december.

Andre titler, som kan fremhæves, er Wes Andersons The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (27. september), baseret på Roald Dahls historie, og Maestro (20. december) med Bradley Cooper i hovedrollen. - "Uanset om du er hjemme hos din familie eller forsøger at få set alle de film, dine venner ikke kan stoppe med at snakke om, har denne efterårssæson noget for enhver smag: stjernefyldte ensembler, elskede bogadaptationer, thrillere som kaster nyt lys over den verden, vi lever i, familievenlige sjove, dristige genfortællinger baseret på sande begivenheder, actionfyldte rejser ind i mærkelige nye verdener, prestigedramaer og fascinerende dokumentarfilm," lød det fra Netflix. Film fra Netflix lægges typisk til streaming i 4K Dolby Vision HDR og/eller Dolby Atmos lyd. Nogle af filmtitlerne får biografpremiere i udvalgte lande, oplyser Netflix, men kun i en kort periode, så det vil ikke kunne udfylde hullerne i filmkalenderen pga. strejkerne i Hollywood. Det oplyses ikke, om nogen af de nye film sendes i danske biografer. Her er hvad du kan se frem til fra Netflix.

Sept. 15 Love at First Sight GENRE: Rom-com SYNOPSIS: After missing her flight from New York to London, Hadley (Haley Lu Richardson) meets Oliver (Ben Hardy) in a chance encounter at the airport that sparks an instant connection. A long night on the plane together passes in the blink of an eye but upon landing at Heathrow, the pair are separated and finding each other in the chaos seems impossible. Will fate intervene to transform these seatmates into soulmates?

Sept. 19 The Saint of Second Chances GENRE: Documentary SYNOPSIS: Mike Veeck grew up in the shadow of his hustler father, Hall of Fame baseball owner Bill Veeck. The Veeck name became both legendary and notorious in professional baseball as they introduced the fun at ballparks — giveaways, theme nights, fireworks, and more. But it all came to a screeching halt when Mike blew up his father's career. Exiled from the game he loved, the younger Veeck spent the next few decades clawing his way up from rock bottom, determined to redeem himself. After receiving distressing news, what started as a journey to reclaim the family legacy, became an opportunity to appreciate that family more fully. Sept. 27 Forgotten Love (Znachor) GENRE: Drama SYNOPSIS: Respected surgeon loses his family and memory. Many years later, forgotten and poor, he meets his grown-up daughter but both are not aware of their connection. Moving to tears! Third movie inspired by the cult novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz. Nov. 15 Stamped from the Beginning GENRE: Documentary SYNOPSIS: Oscar-winning director Roger Ross Williams brings Dr. Ibram X. Kendi’s New York Times bestseller to the screen with Stamped from the Beginning. Published in 2016, Dr. Kendi’s National Book Award winner chronicles the entire story of anti-Black racist ideas and their staggering power over the course of American history. Williams’ documentary adaptation uses vivid animations that illuminate figures and moments both well-known and obscure, both historical and contemporary. Leading female academics and activists such as Dr. Angela Davis, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Dr. Jennifer L.
