Google bekræfter, at de software-nyheder, der introduceres med Google TV Streamer, også udrulles til alle andre Google TV-enheder. Blandt andet det nye Google Home-panel.
Der er tale om fem nyheder:
Google Home-panelet til styring af opkoblede hjem
Gemini "AI" med bl.a. resumé af handling og anmeldelser af film og tv-serier
AI-genererede pauseskærme
Freeplay med gratis, reklamefinansierede tv-kanaler
En ny sportssektion
Kun den første er relevant for danskere og europæere i første omgang. De fire andre udrulles til at starte med kun i USA. Udrulningen sker gradvist over de kommende uger og måneder, oplyser Google.
Forbeholdes ikke Google TV Streamer
Google havde allerede bekræftet, at de ældre Chromecast-enheder får Android 14 – ligesom Google TV Streamer har.
Nye funktioner føjes dog ikke kun til Google TV via Android- og systemopdatering. Google er begyndt at udrulle stadigt flere nye funktioner – og reklametiltag – direkte fra serveren uden brugeren skal gøre noget. Der var derfor spørgsmålstegn ved de nye funktioner, som Google TV Streamer blev lanceret med.

Google TV-enheder omfatter bl.a. nyere TV-modeller fra Philips, Sony og TCL samt Chromecast. Med udmeldingen forsikrer Google altså eksisterende ejere om, at de ikke er glemt.
- "Nye opdateringer kommer til alle Google TV-enheder fra i dag – inklusive den nye Google TV Streamer, der er tilgængelig fra den 24. september. Fra nye måder at finde ud af, hvad du vil se, til nye måder at styre dit smarte hjem på," sagde Rob Caruso, chef for Product Management & UX, Google TV.
Der er ikke udmeldt planer om at tilføje funktionerne på Android TV-enheder som Nvidia Shield.

Control your smart home with Google TV
With the new home panel on Google TV, you can control all of your compatible smart home devices — including lights, thermostats and cameras — without leaving the couch. The new doorbell notifications also allow you to see who's at the front door without pausing what you're watching. And, if you can’t find the remote, you can control your devices using your voice and the Google Assistant.
Turn your TV into a personal masterpiece

An improved Ambient screensaver lets you create AI-generated designs or relive your favorite moments with Google Photos. Or if you're looking for something more sentimental, you can ask Google Assistant to display your favorite memories in Google Photos on your TV.
