Alle nye Philips OLED TV vil i år bruge MediaTeks væsentligt opgraderede Pentonic 1000 chip, mens Sony endnu ikke har givet detaljer. Alle Pentonic-chips er Calman Ready til kalibrering.
Bekræftelsen kom som del af MediaTek og Portrait Displays' udmelding på CES 2023 om, at Pentonic 2000, Pentonic 1000 og Pentonic 700 bliver de første Calman Ready TV-chips.
Pentonic 1000 i 2023 Philips OLED TV
Philips oplyser, at deres 2023 OLED TV får Pentonic 1000, som er den mest kraftfulde Pentonic-chip til 4K TV med fire HDMI 2.1 porte. Selskabet kommenterede ikke på LCD TV. Philips præsenterer 2023 TV for første halvår i februar.
- "Philips TV's legacy in innovative excellence has arrived at a breakthrough in picture quality. In collaborating with Portrait Displays and MediaTek, all Philips OLED TV series launched in 2023 will achieve an outstanding level of high-quality picture performance utilizing Calman Ready and MediaTek Pentonic 1000," sagde Ken CM Liao, Senior Director for Global Product Management hos OBM BG hos TPV Group.

Sony lagde ikke detaljer på bordet, men bekræftede, at de vil bruge en eller flere af de nye Pentonic chips. Sony har bekræftet overfor Flatpanels, at årets nye modeller præsenteres "senere på foråret".

In addition to Sony’s integrated image processing algorithms, our strategic collaboration with Portrait Displays and MediaTek allows us to take the Smart TV visual experience to the next level. With accurate color calibration, customers can enjoy movies and TV shows precisely how they were meant to be viewed," sagde Yoshihiro Ono, Head of Home Entertainment Business Group hos Sony Corporation.
Philips og Sony bruger allerede MediaTek chips i deres eksisterende Android TV og Google TV. I modsætning til Philips, sælger Sony også 8K TV, hvilke Pentonic 2000 er beregnet til. Du kan se, hvilken chip, der bruges i en given TV-model i TV-databasen.
MediaTek har tidligere sagt, at Pentonic 2000 er den første 7nm chip til TV-skærme. Apple TV 4K (2021) har imidlertid været udstyret med en 7nm chip siden april 2021, mens Apple TV 4K (2022) har en 5nm chip.

Hvad angår Calman Ready-integration vil MediaTek Pentonic-baserede TV med Calman Ready appen give kalibratorer og købere med det rigtige udstyr mulighed for at oprette forbindelse direkte til Calman-softwaren og køre automatiske kalibreringer på SDR og HDR .
MediaTek Pentonic vil understøtte en bred vifte af Calman-kalibrerings- og skærmprofileringsløsninger, "fra 3x3 farvekorrektionsmatrixer til 1D/3D LUT-generering til højpræcision farveskala og gråtonekorrektioner via Calmans Aurora Color Engine", forklarer selskabet.
