Senere på måneden får 15 Yamaha-modeller indenfor soundbarer, højttalere og receivere understøttelse af Apple AirPlay 2. Herudover får 23 receivere HDMI eARC.
Yamaha AirPlay 2 opdatering
Yamaha siger, at AirPlay 2 vil gøre brugere i stand til at streame musik fra Apple Music eller andre streamingtjenester til Yamaha-højttalere i hele hjemmet.
- "Support for Apple AirPlay 2, adding the ability to stream Apple Music and other streaming services from your iPhone, iPad, HomePod and Mac to multiple Yamaha devices and other AirPlay 2-enabled speakers – simultaneously, perfectly in sync and throughout your home. And, with Siri on your iPhone, iPad, HomePod and AirPods, you can control what's playing in every part of your home with just your voice," sagde Yamaha.
Opdateringen rulles ud fra slutningen af april. En fuld liste over kompatible enheder kan ses i tabellen nederst.
Herudover tilføjer Yamaha understøttelse af Spotify Connect til brugere med gratis Spotify-konto, Actions on Google (Assistant) samt Qobuz streaming.
- "With these firmware updates, we're giving our customers more choices for how they enjoy their favorite music and audio content. Plus, they now have the option to use their favorite voice assistant, whether it's Siri, the Google Assistant or Alexa, to control the experience throughout their homes," sagde Alex Sadeghian, director, Consumer Audio, Yamaha Corporation of America.
AirPlay 2 understøttes også på en række højttalere og receivere fra bl.a. Marantz, Denon, Bang & Olufsen, Sonos, BlueSound og Apple.

Yamaha HDMI eARC support
Yamaha tilføjer desuden HDMI eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) support i 23 AV-receivere. Med HDMI eARC kan en kompatibel TV-skærm udsende (eller passthrough) lyd i tabsfri kvalitet fra HDMI eARC-porten videre til en soundbar eller receiver.

- "Addition of eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) feature to 2017 and 2018 AV receivers will support uncompressed audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD, and object-based surround such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X," sagde Yamaha.
HDMI eARC opdateringen rulles ud fra slutningen af april.
