Google afslører YouTube Red abonnements-tjeneste

Efter måneder med rygter, løfter Google endelig sløret for deres nye abonnementstjeneste på YouTube. Den hedder YouTube Red og giver for $10 om måneden et reklamefrit YouTube med unikt indhold og ekstra funktioner.

De fleste videoer på YouTube ledsages i dag af reklamer. Med et abonnement på YouTube Red får du adgang til alt det velkendte indhold uden en eneste reklame. Projektet skydes i gang i næste uge d. 28. oktober.

Ud over et reklamefrit YouTube vil man som abonnent have adgang til ekstra funktioner. Det vil bl.a. være muligt downloade alle videoer og spillelister, så de kan ses offline. Abonnementet virker også på YouTube Gaming og YouTube Music; en ny app som præsenteres i dag. Abonnement på YouTube Red giver også adgang til Google Play Music - og vice versa.

YouTube Red

I starten af næste år vil YouTube Red få eksklusivt indhold fra en række velkendte YouTube-ansigter, inklusiv PewDiePie og CollegeHumor. De ti første eksklusive ”Originals” kan ses i tabellen nedenfor. TechCrunch rapporterer, at der har været en vis skepsis overfor Red-tjenesten blandt YouTube-stjernerne, men at YouTube har tvunget dem til at underskrive med trussel om at sætte deres indhold ”privat”; reelt fjerne det fra offentligheden. Google siger, at det er for at sikre at indholdet er tilgængeligt på både YouTube og YouTube Red og tilføjer, at de nu har aftaler med 99% af de store ansigter på tjenesten.

YouTube Red lanceres i USA d. 28. oktober med en måned prøveperiode. Herefter koster den $9.99 dollars om måneden, hvilket er samme pris som Netflix. Tjenesten rulles ud i flere lande senere.
