Denne her passage fra The Verge testen bekymrer mig:
"That means that, out of the box, any non-4K content you watch will be upscaled and processed into 4K HDR, running at the highest refresh rate your TV supports, which is usually 60Hz."
HDR-opskalering... Jeg skrev med Nilay Patel, som har lavet testen, for at høre om Apple har forklaret nærmere.
Mit spørgsmål:
Is SDR content actually upscaled into Rec.2020 / HDR dynamic range or is SDR simply embedded into the HDR container?
Nilays svar:
I didn’t get a specific answer on that, but Apple appears to be upscaling since it looks so different than regular SDR in spots.
Vi prøver at få lavet nogle målinger på boksen, hvis det er muligt, for at se, hvad der præcis sker, men uagtet, så vil et HDR-signal jo på f.eks. LCD-tv trigge, at de sætter lysstyrken op til maksimalt niveau.
